Long story short I smashed my phone and my insurance company can't repair it so have offered a cash settlement figure. I'm on a refresh contract and wondering if I pay the remainder of my device plan off would I be able to upgrade the handset without a credit check. My bills are all paid, although sometimes a few days late due to missed direct debits. Thanks in advance for any help.

You will be fine.
They don't credit check on upgrades, only for new accounts.
