Charged for receiving calls in France

Anonymous
Not applicable
Having got a good French mobile deal for France I was surprised to see call chargrs on my O2 bill. But I'be now realised I've been charged 41p for each of the calls I'be received and answered while here. Am I missing something, or is this a mistake? In each case the number of the call I'm supposed to have made is my own O2 number. I'm confused.

No, am on the flat one-hour rate, so 41p per call.

No, it's 50p per hour, per call either way.

Oh yes, probably, but as I say, there shouldn't be any charge to receive, unless they've suddenly changed T&Cs. If they're going to charge for receiving calls, I'm changing to someone else. But I'm hoping it's a mistake.

If it's 50p to receive a two-second call, it's a rip-off. Plain and simple.

How does O2 Travel work?

You'll only be charged £1.99 for the days that you use data in Europe.

There's no upper usage limit, but traffic management steps apply. Your daily data charge will apply from midnight to midnight UK time
When you make or receive calls between countries in Europe, there's a connection charge of 50p, then it's free to talk for up to 60 minutes.

Texts sent to the UK and Europe – 5p (free to receive).

Sending a media message – 25p per message.

Ah, fair enough, I've been scammed. Has there always been this charge for receiving calls? I could have sworn it was free before. I guess O2 are milking it for all it's worth before it's outlawed by the EU next year.

It's always been that there is a charge to receive calls. Some networks are stopping the charges in Europe and various other destinations. O2 haven't as yet I'm afraid.
