Charged for 12 MMS messages at 33p plus VAT that were actually SMS messages so no pics sent!

Not applicable

Anyone had this happen to them and can advise please?

I have looked through the numbers and dates they were itemised against and I never sent a photo that day to any of the numbers listed, as I don't send them apart from via Whattsapp due to cost.

Cheers

Using emoticons can also convert it to mms.

You can turn off mms in phone settings and on android you can set the phone to warn you when the message converts.

As others have said, your phone may convert a sms to a mms depending on smiles, multiply recipients, length of message etc.

I'm my experience, you are normally given notice from the handset of the switch, either a pop up on screen or the message type is listed at top or bottom of the screen. If you tell us what phone you have someone might know how your notified.

In windows phone 7 / 8.1 / 10 you can turn off mms is the settings.
