Changing surname as got married

Anonymous
Not applicable

Dear sir/madam

I went to Carphone Warehouse the other day to do an upgrade early and thought it wouldn't be a problem but you wouldn't give them permission to do this as you still have my maiden name.  I was asked to produce my marriage certificate which I have scanned.

Where shall I send this to and how quickly can I get another phone as mine is currently out of action?

Send a copy of the marriage certificate  with a covering letter giving details of all the account numbers you have with O2. (For example mobile, broadband, home phone.) to:

The Correspondence Management Team

PO BOX 694

Winchester

SO23 5AP

as mentioned before, or via email with the scanned proofs toBusinessTOO@o2.com

or via fax with the scanned proofs to 0870 6002402.

You can print a form to send along with the proofs by going towww.o2.co.uk/namechange

By the way we are all customers here.

For doing the upgrade now I would have thought that if you showed your marriage cert in store that would be sufficient evidence to proceed ?

You would have hoped so. They could quite easily scan the document and send it through with the order but they don't seem able to use common sense or deviate from their rules and regulations.
