Changing registered card details for making top-ups via mobile

The card I use to top up my phone expires this month. I'm wondering how to change the details in order to keep topping up by card.

Is it just a case of putting in the new details the first time I top up with it, and it will then remember it and allow me to enter just the last few digits each time after that?

It should do but be aware that there are rules governing the amount of cards which can be used to top up a mobile phone.

You can only have 2 cards registered to top up so if you have used 2 different ones already you may have to contact customer service to deregister your old card and register the new one.
