Changing phone, same O2 SIM card, does all PAYG credit get transferred?

Hi guys,

Have a PAYG O2 mobile/SIM from 2007 (or thereabouts) with ~£85 credit remaining. I've been using it on a regular basis & topping up £10 every 3 months or so.

Thinking of getting a newer, unlocked mobile soon & using the same O2 SIM to keep the same number. Will the £85 credit get transferred to the new phone automatically? Or, do I need to call O2 support to do it for me? Or, will I lose all the credit with no transfer possible?

Haven't a clue, so thanks for an accurate answer or any helpful advice.

The credit stays with the sim and number.

You can put it in any phone you like.

Happy to help! slight_smile

You can even change to a new sim of a different type keeping the same number for a different phone and it will still be the same.

Come to think of it, that's most likely to be the case with a newer phone! Thanks again :manhappy:

O2 even have a page for that, or you can do it in an O2 shop:
