Got a few sim only contracts running (three) and all are just over a month old. Looking at getting different data now, less on one and more on another. The best deals seem to be on upgrading rather than changing the tariff. It’s a silly question but what’s the difference between changing tariff and upgrading?

If you upgrade then you are agreeing to a new contract. A tariff change means you carry on your existing contract.

@Weapon90

A tariff change is penalty free.

An upgrade requires that you pay off your existing contract unless it's reached the minimum term.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Ok cheers, very disappointing that the tariffs available to ‘change’ to are not as good as the upgrade ones or those for new customers
