I want to cancel my contract. I have the o2 sim as part of virgin tv deal. I don’t use the sim so can’t log in to my o2 account as I can’t get the security check number.

You are going to have to use the sim card to get security code, put it in a phone to get the code.  and follow this guide to cancel Guide: Cancelling Your Contract 

Also be aware that if you are still in contract with Virgin the sim forms part of that contract and they will increase your costs to cover the discount given and also reserve the right to remove all benefits applied to the account as part of the Volt package, and you will need to pay any termination fees to o2 if you are still in the minimum term.
