Cancelling a contract early

Anonymous
Not applicable

I was wondering if someone could help me out - if I cancel a contract early does it affect my chances of getting another contract with O2 in the future?

To clarify the situation - I am 1 year in to a 2 year contract with a Blackberry handset (It seemed like a reasonable period at the time as I don't change my mobile that regularly). For various reasons I am not happy with the handset and I just feel like it is not the right phone for me. I've looked into contract cancellation fees which I would be happy to pay just to get rid of this phone!

If I do buy out of my contract early, will I be unable to take out another contract with O2 for a different handset?

Yes, you can. It won't effect you at all, but you could just buy another phone and use your existing SIM and carry on with your current contract.

Ah, I didn't realise you could do that. I thought it was specific to the phone. Thanks for the help.

If you don't get another BB you will have to change your data bolt on but just call CS and they will do that for you for free.
