Can't stop O2 More Texts

I am getting fed up with texts about O2 More and can't cancel them. Each text says to send stop to 20502, but every time I try, I get message failed. I've used the standard Hangouts SMS app and O2's TU GO app on my Nexus 5 with the same results.

Does anyone have a web link or email address to opt out of these messages? Or will customer services be able to do it?

No you can't.... I have just tried it on my laptop and it came up with the Whoops Error message?

That being the reason why the firewall was going crazy!

So Edit on the answer: the 2 ways of canceling o2 marketing sms are customer services and 2220!

There's a 4th possible reason :

 

"Our outsourced Web maintenance contractor has messed up again"

Thanks for all your suggestions so far...

 

So, O2 More web page is inaccessible - security warnings from my browsers suggest it is false or poorly configured.

 

SMS of STOP to 20502 is not possible (does this contravene regulations given that the incoming texts are not charged?).

 

2220 doesn't have any options for O2 More. It does tell me that I am only registed to get information on O2 Priority Moments. I have elected to get contacted via email only (for everything I presume).

 

I'll see what happens as only time will tell.

There is nowhere in the 'My O2' where you can update your contact preferences despite this being referred to in the 'help and support' section.  I thought an opt out section was compulsory for all marketing?   

 

I wrote to O2 and was told that texts from O2 More are not from them so they cannot turn them off, yet the website refers to O2 More as being a service from O2.  These maddening texts are from a company called Exact Targetting.  From their website they are a junk email and text marketing service provider.  I've contacted Exact Targetting via their website and asked them to stop the SPAM but I didn't get a response and the SPAM texts continue.  As others have detailed below, texting 'STOP' to the number on the text, and even getting a text response that the SPAM will stop, doesn't make any difference.  Incidentally, this is a premium rate number.  

 

My next step will be a complaint to the Communications Ombudsman.  

 

Shame on O2 for allowing its customers to be treated so badly
