Calls to Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man, from 4th December

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have just received a message saying that, from 4th December, calls to Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man will be removed from my inclusive minutes. It doesn't mention whether texts will be affected. Does anyone know whether or not texts will still be part of the inclusive text allowance?

Many thanks,

David Parkin

Make a formal complaint if you feel your terms have changed to your detriment, if O2 don't agree there is a chance that the ombudsman may and you could be released from your contract:

This is bound to affect texts as well.

So dissapointed, the only reason I am on simplicity unlimited is because of unlimited calls, I need to call Isle of Man a lot from Northern Ireland. the cost now seems extreme and not unlimited even if I do get a new bolt on. How is calling a place I can see with my own eyes on the horizon treated the same as calling far europe. This cant be right. Do any other networks operate a more sensible policy on this?

You'd have to make enquiries with the other networks.

I've had a chat with an advisor, who has let me know that texts won't be included either, and will be charged at 12p a time 😞 I'm going to do some research, as this change is going to really effect me as all my family are in the Channel Islands

Unfortunatley, although they have a bolt-on for calls, there isn't one for texts yet http://www.o2.co.uk/support/generalhelp/howdoi/ngnchange

This is an extraordinarily petty move by O2.

Not just petty, but totally bloody stupid.

I have been with O2 for more than 7 years, and have during that time also had various contracts through work, or with family members, and O2 have by far the best service.

Added to that, they were the only network that included British islands in your package, whih is why I always kept one contract with O2.

As I can get better deals elsewhere, I have today had to close my account, and they've lost a long term customer. Why any company would decide to drop a USP is beyond me, but hopefully their stupidity costs them.

All my family are on the island and I've stuck happily with O2 for years. Now it might be time to move to another network as the additional cost is prohibative. Very poor move by O2. Fifteen years of custom about to go.
