Over the last few weeks, I've had 3 or 4 calls from people saying they've had missed calls from my number. The first one I just thought was a mistake but now I've had another few I'm beginning to wonder. I always have my CallerID turned off so even if I'd pocket-dialled by accident they wouldn't know my number.
Is this something of a new spoof or scam? What can I do about it?

What has probably happened is that Spammers have spoofed your number.
I've had it happen to me.
They use it on and off for a while then move on elsewhere
Not really anything you can do

It's nothing new at all - been going on for years.
Mobile numbers are spoofed so the scammers are untraceable and to make their calls appear more legitimate.
Also used to make people think calls are genuinely coming from banks or other financial institutions.

OK thank you. So I just need to be careful when I answer calls that I don't recognise the number
