Bolt on

Anonymous
Not applicable
I signed up for the international travel bolt on and it says it conflicts with euro zone bolt on. I would have to end that to take the travel bolt on. I can’t see why I wouldn’t do that? But I can’t tell what I am going to loose out on?

Do you mean O2 Travel bolt on? If so, that is now only applicable outside the European Union. Within the EU it is automatically replaced by the new roaming rates introduced on June 15th last year.

What that means is that if you are on contract with O2 or any network,  you can now use your allowances just as you can at home and as long as you don't exceed your UK allowances you would incur any changes.

O2  Travel will just become inactive within the EU so there is no need to cancel it at all and you will gain nothing by doing so.

Are you on a business tariff?

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Yes it’s the travel bolt on that allows roaming at £4.99 per month. I thought that was the case but I only got my Uk phone 3 weeks ago and thought it would have been set up that way already so no need to cancel it? I can’t see any reason why I wouldn’t but it just seemed odd that a recent set up had this?

£4.99 per day unfortunately.

But no need to cancel anything.

I’m not sure why that message appears but it’s irrelevant anyhow.

Hi @Anonymous Just wanted to check how you're getting on as it's been a while since you last posted. slight_smile

Not sure if you're on Business account or not as was asked above, but just in case we've checked on our end so thought I'd share this info in case you're still around. slight_smile

Just like advised above, the EU Roam Like At Home legislation is in place and allows customers to utilise their bundled allowances in our Europe Zone, as well as in the UK so the correct charges will be applied.

However there are certain circumstances where O2 Travel will not be compatible with other additional roaming data services, these are listed below and include some Business account related services:

  • Shared Roaming Data
  • Data Abroad Daily/Quarterly Daily
  • EU Opt Out
  • Data Abroad 500Mb (Business only)
  • Data Abroad 1Gb (Business only)
  • Data Abroad 2Gb (Business only)
  • Data Abroad 3Gb (Business only)
  • Data Abroad 5Gb (Business only)

Hope that helps. slight_smile
