I recently signed up to O2 online and in the process, it stated payments accepted were Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Paypal and Apple pay, yet not of these links worked. Eventually, as I continued it asked for direct debit instructions of which I didn't want to use. I continued as I thought it may be something that I can do once I've joined. On trying to change to a credit card online now that it's all up and running, again it presents me with account number and sort code request for DD only. I don't get it!

O2 prefer monthly contracts to be paid by DD. It may be due to this pandemic and with systems failing this is the only option they are giving?
