It all depends on your bank.
If you bank with the same as O2 it could be almost immediate, but other banks can take 24 hours to transfer. You then need to allow a further 24 hours for O2 to process the payment and for the system to update.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

@Kirsty3333 I believe it takes a minimum of three working days for monies to clear. If you've paid by bank transfer because of a late payment you should consider starting a Direct Debit to avoid problems like this in the future.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

With 'faster payments' it's usually received instantaneously.

http://www.fasterpayments.org.uk/how-faster-payments-works

That's how most transfers under £250k go these days. You can use the sort code checker on the site to check your account is eligible for faster payments. I would be surprised if it wasn't.

O1-1O-O1 is O2's business customer  account is faster payment-able.

So the limiting factor is now how long it takes O2 to process the payment from showing up in the O2 payables account at Nat West to being shown as paid in your account on MyO2.

Assuming it has gone FP and you can easily check with your bank  transaction by transaction, then you'd be within your rights to complain if O2 claimed it hadn't been recieved yet.

And being as payment is key in any contract will put O2 on the back foot if they are witholdin services in lieu of payment.

Easiest way, @Kirsty3333if you don't mind registering a card on the O2 website, is:

1. Register a card (a Visa Direct Debit or a credit card, either will do, even AmEx if you use one for store points/travel rewards!) on the "O2 Wallet" part of your MyO2 app.

2. Use the O2 App to make payment from the card stored in your O2 Wallet.

3. Every payment you make goes to O2 *immediately*, and you get an e-mail confirmation instantly.

4. The payment shows up in the "Payment history" section of the O2 Bills and Payments website almost immediately during the daytime, or at least overnight if payment is made late in the evening.

Done!

Hi @Kirsty3333, how are you getting on? slight_smile Did everything turn out ok in the end with your payment, now that it's been a while since you posted your question? It would be nice to hear back from you.

Thanks everyone for your advice! & Nice post there @pgn with your clear instructions on payment card registration and the screenshots, cheers for that. thumbsup
