I feel like I have been given misleading information from O2 about the payments I will make abroad. I called them and they told me my payments would be only £1.99 per day in Europe, and so stupidly believed them! I checked the website too, but of course I couldn't see Ukraine on the list and so assumed it was obvioudly IN europe... since it is! To my horror after using my internet to sort out my missing luggage in Ukraine on my first few days I discovered that the £1.99 was a complete lie, and shortly receieved a message from 02, 36 HOURS after arriving that I would be paying £6 per MB and 40p for my sms! I also have no option to turn off my data roaming, making matters worse! Why do I have to pay for this? For being given misleading information!

I'm not aware it is part of the EU yet.

What phone do you have? There should be an option to turn off roaming. Apparently Ukraine isn't in the EU

To be fair you haven't been given misleading information. You were told £1.99 per day in Europe and you believe the Ukraine to be in Europe. It isn't even though they feature in the Euro football championships.

I went on a live chat and spoke to someone who told me It would be £1.99 a day in Ukraine for Kiev. I didn't further check the 02 website after this, since I believed the person who I spoke to from 02. I know Ukraine isn't in the EU but it is in Europe. This is the basis I was going by.

Another example of why live chat is unfit for purpose and can be a liability.
If you have proof of the conversation, O2 should refund you.
@Toby another one for the training manual!

I agree 100%. Telling the customer what they want to hear...or giving out totally wrong information out of ignorance is unforgivable in my opinion...
