Basically the rolling plan commits you to top up every month Pay As You Go: Introducing "Rolling Plans"

A rolling plan is where you register a debit or credit card with O2 enabling them to top up your credit,thereby renewing your plan each month. You CANT top up any other way and NO additional services such as call waiting or wi fi calling,volte etc are provided.
