As the subject says, I'd like to port my current phone number out of O2 but keep my PAYG credit on a new O2 SIM card number (that I have, unused), is that possible?

You need to transfer your credit first then get a PAC for your number, but, moving the credit will cancel the sim, so check with O2 if they can still generate a PAC from a cancelled account.
If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this.
