I’m currently on a rolling plan and just traveled to Spain and I’m not able to make any calls, send texts or use my data. I can’t receive calls either. For some reason, I can receive texts.

I’m new to O2 so not sure if there’s something stopping me or blocking this.

About a month ago I transferred my number from vodafone to O2 and it works fine in the UK but not in Spain.

Anyone has any suggestions?

thanks

I don't have a GiffGaff SIM. I am with DigiMobil in Spain. I tried the O2 SIM in an iPhone 7 that connects easily to 2G,3G,4G and 4G+ with my Digi SIM. But the O2 PAYG SIM doesn't work in that phone either. My O2 PAYG SIM is on the Classic PAYG tariff which is unavailable to new customers now. I checked O2's new PAYG tariffs, and it seems they aren't even PAYG, they just use the name PAYG!! Both Big Bundles and Rolling Plans require a minimum 10 pounds top up a month!! How is that PAYG? Am I missing something? I mean what is it with this corporate world?!?! @MI5 Thanks for the 1pmobile tip, they look great, however they still require you to top up by 30 pounds a year minimum. I'm looking for a real true UK PAYG that works in Europe and doesn't need topping up when it is not used. So I can use it for emergency calls to UK hospitals or to businesses or shops in the UK. More investigation needed.

@Cozzzzzzzzz

There is nothing like that available anymore in the UK.

1pMobile is the cheapest you'll find that works good both here and in EU.

Remember, 4g calling functionality is the key to EU roaming when comparing others.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

thanks @MI5 Looking at Asda, they have a 180 day inactive top up limit, and minimal top up of 5 pounds. So maybe a tenner a year
