Self isolated Gran need help choosing best plan

Hi all I have a Gran who is self isolated in sheltered housing she has zero clue with technology but I have an old 4g iPad and have found an unused but in date PAYG sim. I think it should be pretty simple for her to answer a Skype call so she can talk to the family and we will put a little printed guide together for her.
My question is could I sign up to one of the big bundles as they have decent data allowances for decent money and use that or do I need to get a specific ipad/tablet plan? The data allowances look pretty poor for those plans.
When we drop it off I will have a look to see what WiFi if any is available but I think 4g is probably the best option

Any PAYG sim or tariff will work short term although O2 have been known to disable big bundles when used in tablets.

Whether they would or not in the present climate is unknown.

Ok thanks for that I will give it a go it's only a short term thing hopefully will just enable her some face to face with people. she's been stuck in the same couple of rooms for two weeks now.
