Hi
I've just had my sim reactivated and credit put back on after O2 wrongly deactivated it despite topping up in December 2021 and using in April of this year.
However, the live chat told me:
"You must top up within 24hrs of reconnection, and then make a short chargeable call once the number is reconnected to ensure the number stays active. If you do not top up, we will not be able to reconnect your number again."
I don't want to add another £10 to my balance, only for it to be wrongly taken off me again.
Is this really necessary, or is it just standard wording because I need to make a chargeable call within 24 hours, and most people can't do so unless they have credit. Or does it need another "initial topup" to become usable?
As an example, I can't even add it to "My O2" yet. Does it just need time to ripple through the system?

We’re just customers like you but it sounds like you’ll need someone to access your account which can’t be done from here. If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this

Never heard that one before @rivergo1d
A chargeable call every 6 months is all that should be needed, so if you have credit as you say, just call someone for a couple of mins and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Hey @rivergo1d were you able to sort it out?
