My pay as you go sim has been disconnected due to not being used for some time. As it is used in my home alarm it got forgotten and it had £15+ on it.

How do I get it reactivated or at least my £15+ put on to a new sim number?

Without live chat it is so hard to contact O2 even through the phone. Have called 5 times, put on hold each time and due to Covid-19 there is a long wait, then got cut off each time, as waited too long.

I know it was my fault but by the time I get it sorted my home could be broken in to and we won't know due to it not making the call.

Some numbers to try here Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support

The one ending in 4005 is a good one.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Contact O2. Numerous numbers are in this guide. Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support They may be able to reactivate your old one. If not they will issue you a new sim.

However, if they have to issue a new sim it wouldn't be a Classic tariff when you top up when you need to.

It would be a Big Bundle which isn't what you need

Easily solved as you can get a Classic type PAYG sim from giffgaff or Tesco as they both rumn on the O2 network.

First thing, see if O2 can reactivate your old sim. Best number to call is 0800 587 4005.
