Pay as you go - 10 pounds 2GB - credit issue

Hi,

 

I live outside the UK, I bought a SIM while in the UK at Xmas (Pay as you go - 10 pounds for 2GB, 500 minutes, 5000 texts).  I put the SIM in a phone while in the UK but did not make calls or texts.  I was told as long as I send a text every month from overseas I can keep it alive and use it on my next trip to the UK.

 

Back at home, I seem to have no credit, do I need to convert the UK credit into roaming credit?  To top-up I need a UK credit card which I don't have.

 

Grateful for any assistance.

You credit has been exchanged for the allowances so your credit will show as zero. You really need to change to the classic 321 sim for what you need. You can change this in your MyO2 http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2

@jdavid You only need to use it once every 6 months & top up every 999 days but texting from overseas is very expensive up to £2 a time I believe or if o2 travel has been enabled then £4.99 a day. Just sending one text from overseas can activate the £4.99 fee

Thanks for this, according to the SMS I received when registering on a network here, its 1p to send a text, I should be ok for this.  I just need to know whether I did not do something to get my 10 pounds credit when I was in the UK or can I top up somehow from here.

@MI5, many thanks for this.  According to my profile I have:

 

"Remaining allowances: You have 5000 texts, 500 minutes of calls and 2045.3MB of data left" BUT a balance of 0 pounds.

 

I sent "BALANCE" to 20202 and it says I have "You've got 1000 minutes & 0 seconds of your offer allowance left to use in the UK or EU until 23 Jan at 11:59pm"

 

I think I might have an issue that I am in Switzerland which is not in the EU slight_smile

 

Is there another name for classic 321 as I could not find it, thanks.
