Hi I have an o2 mobile which I don’t use very often as I live abroad - but I need to maintain a uk phone number for my bank etc. How often do I need to make a call or send a text in order to keep the number “active”?

@loz15 See this thread: Keeping o2 pay as you go sim card active - Page 2 - O2 Community

Further to this, I am reasonably sure that just sending a text is not enough. You must make a call every six months to keep your number active.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

@loz15

Just to add to the advice given by @Bambino, you must make a chargeable call every six months to keep your number active - calls to freephone numbers do not count for this purpose.

@Bamboccio Technically yes, but I wouldn't trust O2 as they are not keen on keeping PAYG alive.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
