I have swapped from a casual pay as you go to a contract. I was told that I could keep my number but now after several days of having the new sim in my phone, I see the number has been changed. How do I get my number back?

You need to speak to customer service as they should have transferred your number across at the start. Call them on 202 from your o2 phone.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
