Hi. I'm just setting up a new phone for my son and when I set up the o2 account with his new number, the tariff showed as 'simplicity, no allowance' which said next to it 'just pay for what you use' which is ideal. However on topping up it switched to a big bundle and took the £10. My son barely texts or calls so this is of no use and wasn't what was displayed on screen before the top up. Please advise. Thanks.

I'm sorry but you can only get big bundles on O2 and top up would be £10 per month in exchange for allowances.

Thanks for the response. If o2 aren't offering classic pay and go anymore then why was it the set tariff before topping up? Seems quite dishonest and I've paid £10 for something that won't be used. Frustrating.

@Jamie1505

Would normally suggest calling customer service to refund or change the tariff to what was suggested to you but contacting them is nigh on impossible right now.

I noticed in my local co-op that they were still selling classic O2 PAYG Sims recently. If you can get hold of one of them, they are similar to the old simplicity tariffs and charge 3p per min, 2p per text and 1p per mb of data.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
