I cant receive O2 really need my old number for my job applications

My phone keeps asking me to insert sim but it is inserted i have ordered a new sim card but it will have a new number I really need to keep my old number for jobs I have recently applied for when I have looked on thie site it tells me to have my phone so I can receive a text but the phone is not receiving texts or calls are letting me send text or calls?

When you get your new sim you'll need to do a sim swap Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update to keep your number.

Re not able to receive or send texts and calls you need to contact O2 via SKYPE. (Or borrow a phone or use a landline).

Advice from an O2 Guru regarding a way to get through:

When you call, you will be asked for the reason you are calling,

Stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.

Press 2 for Everything Else

Press 5 for More Options

Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to an advisor.

Press Upgrade, Lost/Stolen or Fraud if you have to.

8am is the best time to call
