Switching from Sky. Received new o2 SIM, decided it wasn't the best deal for the money. Phoned, waited 30 minutes. Advisor said he'd put me through to the relevant department then cut me off. Phoned again and have been waiting 25 minutes for someone to answer. I have cancelled the direct debit but would like to inform o2 of my intention. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If it is PAYG then it will simply run out if you don't top up  at least every 6 months.

Don't use it

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

You need to persevere with customer service I'm afraid

Thank you. It's a 30 day contract. I start work at 8am. I have a life to live and don't want waiting on the phone for an hour to be a part of it when I get home from work. 'Customer Service'?
