Hi,

I've just recieved a text message:

FreeMsg: Reminder. You are subscribed to MobiPlanet for £4.50 every 7 days from UME until you text STOP MPL to 83463. HELP? 03300535858 help@umelimited.com

Is this one to ignore? I've never signed up MobiPlanet (I've neer heard of them) and don't want to confirm my number exists by messaging them back. BUT... I also don't want to be charged £4.50 every days.

Any advice?

@Jay

Also contact customer services to place the following 2 bars on your account. It will stop this happening again

  • Bar all Direct to Bill Debits
  • Premium Bar (calls to premium numbers, 090, 070 etc.)

Best of luck and welcome to the forum Welcome

Ok, I'll do the above but how can I also be sure this isn't a scam getting me to click on a dodgy link?

Ewww, this is horrible o2 - poor show indeed.

When I try to text them STOP, I get the following message:

Message Service would like to send a message to 83463.

This will cause charges on your mobile account.

What to do? Getting quite angry with o2 about this.

It IS a scam @Jay

Sadly you may have clicked on a link which signed you up for this service.

Follow the advice in @jonsie's links above and you will be fine.

Also If you apply for the bars to be put on your account as I suggested, then they wont be able to charge you again.

Looking at the posted solution but it doesn't really tell me what to do.

What should I do about the above (my last) message saying I'll be charged?
