Finding codes

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi, I'm looking for advice on how or where to find my MAC code. I also need to find out where to look for LAN and POp whatever for my e-mail. I've recently had e-mails from some people who use Gmail, and I am unable to respond because I need the LAn and I think POP. The Mac code is what I need at the moment. Sorry, I'm not really technically minded.Smiley Embarassed

BT do fibre and ordinary broadband, their fibre product is called BT Infinity.

O2 Webmail can time out if you're too long so does this forum and the MyO2 pages.

If you use an email program on your pc (which is where you would need the SMTP and POP settings) this wouldn't happen.

Thank you MI5, I am going off now to tinker about. Who knows where I'll end up.

Perksie, thank you I had no idea about BT using fibre optics. Actually my OH was a BT engineer for a lot of years and he actually put in much of the fibre optic cabling so that's shown me up! I know to my cost about timing out on webmail etc, still makes me mad. My e-mail woes may be solved by your colleague MI5 (below) I'm a bit slow with this, I wasn't aware you needed an email programme. Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

It's well worth doing and will get you around the timing out issue on the O2 site.

We should be able to help you with the set up, so come back if you're having trouble.
