Hi O2

Do you know how I can use data in Europe, because my data worked fine in the UK, but when I arrived in France it doesn’t work.

Thanks,

Kieran

Hi @Kieran13

You could try and search for a different network by doing a manual network selection.

If you have an iphone, check your apn. If it is showing "idata.o2.co.uk" then change it to "mobile.o2.co.uk"

Failing that, contact customer services to see if there is a roaming bar on your account

@Mark6

You need mobile data/data roaming turned on, on your mobile.

Also make sure you have data allowances to use

Turning the phone off and on can sometimes help too.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:

If you have data, and the data roaming is enabled, the phone sometimes needs a restart, as @MI5 has said.  I usually do a reboot once I turn airplane mode off upon arriving at my European destination, just to be doubly sure.

When travelling through Republic of Ireland and then to Germany by plane last week, and back again, all worked well with my current mobile (Android Pie), so perhaps they've improved that side of things since Android Oreo.

Good luck, @Kieran13 and @Mark6 !
