SMS opened/read comfirmation "R"

My BlackBerry 10 on O2 doesn't support SMS delivery report. So, I always put *0# code in front of my message. The tick changes to blue "D" as the message got to the receiver's network, but it doesn't change to "R" which the receiver opened/read the message. Does anyone know how to do to see "R".

AFAIK only delivery reports are supported with SMS.

If you want read reports as well you need to use BBM or similar messaging app.

You can't on the O2 network. A delivery report is all you can get, no read receipt.

I guess not as it's not supported on o2 but I'll tag @aldaweb who is a BB user to see if he can advise?

Indeed, no network supports read receipts for SMS because the SMS protocol does not support them. The MMS protocol does however but these would be chargeable.

Always better to use free apps such as Whatsapp, Messanger, Line etc. Most people have at least one these days and you know when messages are received and read.

I am using WhatsApp, Messanger, but most of my friends doesn't use them :'(
One more question - If someone blocks my number on their device (Windows mobile), the delivery report would not change to "D" from the tick?

Correct as the sms would never be delivered.

You means that the delivery mark doesn't get to "D" from the tick? And I would see the RED "X"?
