AFAIK only delivery reports are supported with SMS.
If you want read reports as well you need to use BBM or similar messaging app.

You can't on the O2 network. A delivery report is all you can get, no read receipt.

Indeed, no network supports read receipts for SMS because the SMS protocol does not support them. The MMS protocol does however but these would be chargeable.

Always better to use free apps such as Whatsapp, Messanger, Line etc. Most people have at least one these days and you know when messages are received and read.

One more question - If someone blocks my number on their device (Windows mobile), the delivery report would not change to "D" from the tick?
