My Mum bought a second hand phone at a car boot sale. Its an O2 X1. Very old from the info I have found on it. It kept coming up "Information: Network Busy". We thought it was a sim card problem so got a new sim. But still it comes up with the same message. The sim was tested in another phone and it works ok. We just can't make or receive any calls with the X1. Just getting the same, network busy message.
Is it possible that the X1 has had the IMEI number barred due to being reported lost/stolen? Is there another issue that could be causing the message to appear? Is there anything we can do to sort the problem.
We have tried a factory reset and the signal strength bar is full.
Thanks in advance for any help that can be given

Certainly sounds like it has been blocked or the phone is defective. Either way it's not much good to you. If it's IMEI blocked only the original owner can get it unbarred and you may find that the owner is now an insurance company if it was the subject of a lost/stolen claim.

I've had 'Network Busy Try Again Later' frequently showing on my Blackberry Q10. It started about 3 months ago and I've had the phone for pver a year now on O2. I hardly make calls, so the fact it comes up and blocks me being able to make contact or dropping during a conversation has made it necessary I leave O2 and look for a new provider. I've been with O2 for over 10years, but this is such an issue now I have to leave...
