Having very recently upgraded from the 640 to the 650 ... because I was very kindly informed by a member on the forum that Microsoft were not going to make anymore Windows phones, so kinda get it whilst you can
atm I am running both the 640 & the 650 as need to take time to see how to take my 640 caloendar over to the 650
Most of the carrying over was done in the Skipton shop by 3 different members of staff
May I compliment the shop, run by long-time general manager Stavros @Toby ... they worked seamlessly as a team ... I, basically, sat patiently whilst they did their job
Will someone on the O2 Community forum please explain in Janet-&-John speak ie do I have Wi-Fi switched permanently? on or off ... & ... do I have data switched permanently? on or off ... because as said on my 640 thread I'm loosing data fast since Whatsap & Messenger were downloaded onto my 640 last Friday by a whizz kid in the town's WMC

I wouldn't presume to tell anyone what's best for them but there will be a day when pen and paper no longer exists...... scary thought!
Stockpiling as we speak
Off topic but just recently I have had a number of handwritten letters and cards (instead of emails) Even now I am shocked to get them...but they are lovely. I mean.. handwritten??...so strange

Is it something to do with how my brain works or does not work that I find it so difficult to do things with my phone even with expert instruction here?
It is not a secret that I have bi-polar disorder ... I'm just wondering

Jane I can assure you this has nothing to do with being bi polar. It's more to do with an ability to understand technology. Those of us that joined the 'technology club' late will usually find learning about it a bit harder than others. I am a bit useless myself. but just keep trying and trying till I get it. Sometimes I do and sometimes I dont. Its not a compeititon it doesnt mean anyone is thick.... as we all have other strengths. You are like me and have a back up (a PC and a diary) Maybe we find things easier using other methods. Just saying....?

I have blocked several numbers from 'friends'
Will someone confirm that texts are blocked from these people too please?

I have just Googled the question (which I should have done 1st) & the answer is texts will not come through to a blocked number

Re: text messages from contacts to phone
They are not showing up on the message tile on my phone screen
So I have to periodically check to see if any new messages are on my phone
Any help would be appreciated, thank you

@AnonymousI have just checked the Mocrosoft forums ...a few people said this worked
"Had this problem after an update and it disabled the Messaging app running in the background. Once it was re-enabled, I was getting notifications again"
No idea if it will work for you but worth a try?....
