I have a Huawei 5770 that I used with O2 PAYG in the UK. I have now relocated to Portugal, but the unit is locked to O2 so I can't use a local sim. How can I get the unit unlocked ("officially", I'd prefer not to use backstreet processes!)

This seems handset related - and presumes I still have an O2 sim. Currently the Mifi unit has a GiffGaff sim in it as this uses the O2 network and is roaming to MEO in Portugal, but my GiffGaff support is due to end in 5 days time........

Therefore there is no O2 "phone number" to quote and I'm not likely to find a spare O2 sim here in Portugal!

It'll need to be a back door job then unfortunately.

It's not official, but it's the only way you'll do it without an o2 sim.
