Hello
I have the watch connected to a Vodafone OneNumber setup and all works well. Calls, SMS and data use on my watch comes out of my phone plan. Coming up to renewal and so I'm checking out other network's offers. One difference between Vodafone and O2 seems quite fundamental if I have understood it correctly, standalone watch calls/SMS.
On Vodafone my phone can be switched off and I can still make calls/send texts on my watch. This does not seem to be true for O2. Have I got this right?
Thanks

Correct, with O2 the phone needs to be on and there's also a £5 per month charge.

Thanks for that, the monthly cost information is useful too, the Vodafone charge is £7.

Further question please, is the eSIM plan available for the Galaxy Watch 4?

Yes it is.

Thanks again. So my plan for this is:
Get new O2 PAYM up and running on my Samsung A52
Present myself at an O2 store w/ phone, watch & ID and say "gimme eSIM please".
Sound right?

Won't give you one if your on PAYG. It has to be a contract to apply the watch airtime.

Yes, pay monthly is fine.
