I have been using the O2 Boostbox (provided via my employer) for a few weeks now and I am experiencing periodic drops in connection. The box is connected to my home network via a HomePlug which I thought was worth mentioning as this adds a layer between the box and my router.
When the box has connection all seems OK and I get excellent mobile reception. Any known issues that could be causing these connection drops?
Thanks.

Unfortunatly as the boost box is not on general release you may not get much help.
Have you tried moving the box near to the router and direct connection to eliminate home plug issues?

Thanks for the tip, I had noticed that there wasn't much out there on Boostbox support.
I will try the boostbox connected directly to my router to take the HomePlug out of the set up although this will not work for me on a practical level as my place of work is a distance away from the router, hence my use of HomePlugs.
Thanks again

What isp and what router is anything showing in the router logs
I.E. is the router dropping the connection at the same time bost box is unable to connect.
The o2 boost box is the same as vodafone sure signal and on the vodafone forums there may be a few tips you could pick up if you search them as they have had the them in the public domain longer.
Just hope you resolve it

I have checked the router log and there is no record of a drop in connection. I would know if the router dropped as I am on line at the time, working, listening to radio etc so I don't think this is why the box is dropping its connection.
I will move the box next to router later to see if this resolves the issue. Will also check the Vodafone forums as suggested.
Thanks.

The connection speed may be an issue we only get about 3.6kbps. Do you know what amount of spare bandwidth the box likes to have?

I wish I was getting my figures mixed up 😞 Just ran a test on speedtest.net:
Down: 2738 kbps
up: 649 kbps
Maybe the bandwidth is the issue. I just tried to send an MMS and this is causing the box to drop its connection every time.

that is above a 2mb connection for the way they use it on vodafone and you have either a wbc or llu connection with a better than standard adsl upstream.
Should be enough unless doing other uploads etc at the same time
Sorry I acnnot be of more help I am a business customer and would have loved to trial one but get 5 bars 2g in the office and just a bit faster adsl than you.
