I'm just about to go through a day off psychotherapy and hypnotherapy to stop smoking! I'm doing an Allen Carr all-day. seminar.

I've never tried to quit before, never really wanted to tbqh. I'm ready though, I've had enough of this monkey on my back and am determined to stop!

How are you @gindygoo ? How did it go ? slight_smile

I can only equate it with if someone told me to give up milk chocolate ... = ... Galaxy ... Cadbury's don't taste like it used to ... I don't buy the posh stuff ... it's a comfort ... & ... I binge out on it ... as big of a brick of Galaxy that I can find at any given time ... just when needs be ... I can eat it for brekkie ... not proud, it's just how it is

Anyways ... imhho ... us girls gotta have some vice(s) ... & ... milk choccy is mine Cat

Hiya @Anonymous

It. Didn't. Work.! 😱😡

My gf has been really firm with herself and hasn't smoked, but it's down to her willpower, not the bloody luvvie duvvie crap that we paid a fortune to endure!

But, I'm not to be deterred. I've bought patches that I'm starting tonight, and am trying hypnosis on Wednesday. It's expensive, but I'm that determined to stop it's got to be with a shot. My gf is paying for it, bless her. I'm a lucky, lucky woman to have a beautiful woman who loves me completely and utterly.

There u see, there are positives in life even if I'm crap at talk therapy lol...

So, wish me luck for the next few days. I guess. 🤞

Thanks @MI5 the thing was I'd put so much faith in the Allen Carr thing working that when it didn't I was floored. Honestly I spent most of yesterday in tears!!

Bloody soppy cow lol, anyway I've just applied my first patch so let's see how the evening goes. If I can cut right down even, would surely be a start and hopefully the hypno will help.

**taps feet waiting to see what horrors these patches inflict** 😱

Patches didn't work for me - I used a vaping ecig and gradually cut down the strength of the liquid until I reached zero nicotine.
That still gave me the sensation of smoking without actually doing it. I find it easier to give anything up as long as I have something to substitute it with wink

Ahhh replacement therapy is what'll work for me I think, in one form or other @MI5 I'll keep trying. I've vaped successfully before, but tbh I didn't really like it and soon went back to cigs 😞

I'm hopeful that I'll do it soon as I don't want to be smoking by the end of the month (i know tall order) but if I am, it is - what it is!

I will succeed, I'm determined. Thanks @Anonymous yes she's a great gal and I feel I've let her down as she's managing to stay off the smokes 😕
