There are two White Room Quizzes each week - one on Monday and one on Wednesday.

Each White Room Quiz will have eight questions - with two questions from four categories. 

 

The White Room Quiz is open to all members.

Those wishing to take part must pm me - @Mi-Amigo - with their answers between 12 noon today [Monday] and 11.59pm tomorrow [Tuesday]

Today`s WRQ questions are two questions from each of these cateories

Q5 [HISTORY - 2] Who defeated Guthrum of Denmark at Edington in 878AD? 

 

Q6 [SCIENCE - 2: PHYSICS] What, in physics, is tribology the study of?

 

Q7 [LITERATURE - 2] Who wrote "The Day Of The Jackel"?

 

Q8 [SPORT - 2] What is the name of the venue in Sheffield where snooker tournaments are held?  

 

 

The White Room Quiz is open to all members of the Community.

 

Those who want to take part must pm [private message] me [Mi-Amigo] with their answers between 12 noon today [Mon 15 June] and 23.59 [11.59pm] tomorrow [Tuesday 16 June]

- allowing 36 hours to pm your answers.

 

Please do not post your answers on the thread.

 

The answers - and results for each player taking part - will be posted on morning of Wed 17 June.

 

Each member will be awarded star for each correct answer. In addition, each member who gives

 

              EIGHT correct answers               SIX correct answers                     FOUR correct answers

                                                                THE RULES

Each member must pm [private message] their answers to me [Mi-Amigo] after 12 noon today [Mon 15 June 2020] and before 23.59 [11.59pm] tomorrow [Tues 16 June 2020].

No member is to post any answer on the thread.

Any answer received after 23.59 [11.59pm] on Tuesday 16 June will be declared void.

No googling, wiki, youtube search for answers.

 

The White Room Quiz is open to all members.

New members, who have recently joined the Community, and members who have not taken part before, are welcome to join the "regulars" with this week`s quiz. 

 

Please feel free to post any comments on the questions - but not the answers - on this thread.

If you have any questions about the quiz, please ask and I will reply here.

I hope everyone enjoys today`s White Room Quiz - with a mix of easier and not-so-easy questions - and the quiz gives a little light relief.

I enjoyed the quiz and my love of F1 gave me the answer to the Physics question (wahey!!)

I see @LukasB  seems to have an obsession with Oasis rofl

I did laugh when I read @LukasB suggesting the Gallaghers not only played in 1966 World Cup but also wrote The Day of the Jackel joy

 

You were right @gmarkj , they were much tougher questions this time, so well done getting the Bronze Thinker.

 

Hope everyone finds the questions in today`s WRQ a little easier. The Quiz is up on a separate thread.

My sons were Oasis fans @LukasB  so I might do quite well with that. rofl

PS @Mi-Amigo  is a fanatical fan of the Beatles. We used to have quizzes on them back in the day.

I didn't get a moment to participate this time but having checked out the answers just now, I would have gotten 1 right (question 3). grin

I would not know anything in an Oasis-themed quiz apart from a couple of guys' names. laughing
