Hey guys.
In one of my old forums I was a member of (not existing anymore since this year), we had a thread where everybody just told in short what made them happy this day. Thought it would be nice for here too!
To start: I'm working for EMS and my first call today was am expected birth. So we hoped we would be able to bring her into hospital just in time. But it didn't work. I was at the patient and she just said "it's coming"... My team-mate was driving REALLY fast, it took him about an kilometer to brake - during that time the baby was just born. Even we were a really young team and not long into job, we did VERY well and even the doctors told us we did excellent.
(Our last call was a reanimation on the street, the woman did not get an own circulation again.... But I guess that's the circle of life :D)

Heard yesterday that the (ex) mother in law recently suffered a stroke.. so I pedalled across to see her this morning. Thankfully the old bird is 99% mended.. after a brew she shuffled me out of the door so she could get off to line dancing..
Some (kinda) good news for a change!

I do love the way you tell a story @Anonymous . Hard as nails, soft as marshmallow inside.
Damn pleased 'the old bird is 99% mended"

Thankfully it was a mild stroke.
Doctor can I line dance after?
Yes of course.
Good because I couldn't before!
The old one's are the best 😂

I was happy as hell when my collegue took over the "key" and pager this morning as we were on the roll all night long plus overhours.
And tomorrow I'm on dayshift again. My body is confused...

Shift patterns can be changed - 2Days, 2Off, 2Nights, 2O, 3D, 3O, 3N, 3O - if the workplace permits, much better than 4D, 2O, 4N, 4O, 2D, 4O.

Or if you work on the nursing bank on nights, shifts are what others don't want, i.e.
Sun on...Monday off...Tuesday on...Weds off, Thurs on, Friday off.
The shifts from hell. The day you are off you want to sleep but the next night you are on again and can't sleep. etc, etc, etc.
When I retired from full time nursing, I went to work in Nursing homes to get back to my roots (as it were) I did two nights a week and insisted they were together, or not at all
