Hey guys!
Not sure you have seen this, Samsung is working on smart suits, bags and and workout gear -- and it's showing them all off this week at CES Show in Vegas. Some of those products are expected to hit the market this year.

What do you think? Would you be early adopters of this type of wearable tech?

I am old fashioned but this sort of thing gets on my nerves a bit...
The new creations shown at CES included the Samsung WELT, or Wellness Belt. The WELT communicates with your phone to tell you how many steps you've taken, how long you've been sitting, eating habits and your waistline size. It then sends the data to a specially-designed app for analysis, to tell you things like -- if you keep eating like you did today, you're going to gain 2 pounds this month. Samsung expects the WELT to go on sale this year.
Sorry but if you want to lose weight....take exercise if you can, eat sensibly and put less food in your mouth.(*Stands back and waits for the outrage*) I don't need an app or belt to promote common sense...

Problem is obesity is on the increase as are obesity related illnesses...so I am not sure any wearable is helping much. They seem designed to stop you working things out for yourself. The problem is of course, that if the 'tech' tells you all is fine with the world (and your health) folk will continue to believe it. No effort required.
Me? I know I have put on weight if my clothes get a bit tight. Maybe this is the point with the belt? If you have to loosen the 'notch' ...you know you have put on a few pounds?

It is open to all sorts of problems too:
Imagine the "host" website/data repository being hacked and everyone's movements being available for all. In most cases no issues, but anyone with something to hide would not be impressed...

Well I never thought of any of that....but not sure how your employer or a burglar could track you @gmarkj? (Limited tech knowledge prevents me knowing this)
