How long has he been with Virgin? It's likely that he's in an 18 month contract for broadband. If he's P&G for mobile then he's ok but if he's on monthly contract he may well have to pay up his minimum term.

The mobile isn't a problem then.

If he checks his broadband he may well find he was only on a 12 month contract. New customers have to sign up to 18 months I believe.

Don't blame him.

Are they offering an incentive to stay with broadband ?

I'm sure they will, just as any broadband supplier will in order to get you to commit for another 12/18 months. The question he should be asking himself is whether he's happy with virginmedia's broadband or not before leaving in a strop and finding a new supplier is worse or no better.
