Headline : Worlds first Smartphone celebrates 20 years.

 

 

"Never judge a phone by its cover. This chunky, black box was in fact the world's first 'smartphone'.

The IBM Simon went on sale to the public on 16 August 1994 and combined mobile phone technology with a wide range of computing features."

 

 

My thoughts :

 

C'mon guys and gals what was your first mobile phone you owned... can some of you remember that far back >  Don't know

 

Mine looked like a old style handset with curly wire attached to a car battery.

My first mobile was this one, before that I had a BT Charge Card.

Barclaycard BC2 by Alcatel on BT Cellnet which took a full size SIM

(Credit card sized)

 

My first Smartphone was the XDA Orbit

It was bundled with Copilot Sat-Nav and I already had many

Programs from my Toshiba PDA that ran on it.

(They weren't calls apps yet :smileywink:)
