The Scousers won't be happy !
'course anybody with any sense wouldn't have booked Turkey this year.....travel agent friend reckons Turkey is only a little better than Tunisia in lowest bookings

Well sadly people didn't think of that. Two friends of mine booked a wedding there in 2 weeks time. It was booked last year. Friends and family are flying out to celebrate the wedding.....

Apparently the military coup failed and around 130 arrested. The military chief of staff's whereabouts is a mystery they say but the situation is claimed to be now under control.
No fly zone over Anhara but flights have begun again from Ataturk airport.
Definitely won't be visiting there any time soon for sure.

I know this sounds appalling but I am getting sick of the news at the moment. I am not glued to it but as I pop back in and out... and catch bits of it, I am getting confused as to whether we are listening to reports about Turkey or France!
They have just warned of another uprising planned in Turkey...
TV going off I think.....:smileysad:

Yes I'm afraid it's wall to wall here on all the news programmes....those that I can get. I've taken to listening to music most of the time this last couple of days and just tuning in for an update in the evening. It's a sad world we live in and god save our children.

A friend of mine told me today her 17 year old son and his girlfriend were flying there in September for their first holiday abroad. He has cancelled this morning. I know all this could be over by then but it is never worth the risk.
As she said she would not have one minutes peace while they were away. Sadly we will probably see more in other places over this summer. I know Turkey was different to Nice...but still violent and there are still dead and injured people.
