No doubt shareholder pressure. They are the only ones companies listen to.

It was also mentioned back in Sept 2015 that he would step down if the merger went ahead.

There is a good job waiting for him at Capita. I'm sure his former employees would be delighted to see him manning the phones. Preferably overseas!
