Unless you have been in a news free zone for 24 hrs it wont have gone unnoticed that Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended...
Allegedly he punched a producer....
Sundays episode has been shelved along with the remaining two in the Top Gear series..
Clarksons suspension has led to a massive petition for his reinstatement.
Personally, I wonder why so many want him back? Surely this massively popular show can survive without him? (Stands back ready to be panned for that comment )
Maybe this 'hero worship' of Clarkson is a 'man thing'? (apologies if that appears sexist )
I don't particularly like him. I think he arrogantly believes he is invincible....

It seems that the new show is going to be far removed from the original concept and these people obviously want to put their own stamp on the revamped show. The jury is very much out until the the first show is viewed. To be honest I'm not sure how filming near the war memorial disrespects the memory of our gallant lads. You can make the same claims about filming at any memorial or historical site.
...and as for Osborne....nope, not even going there!

I've always liked Top Gear since the early days of Tiff Needell, Quentin Willson, and Vicki Butler-Henderson, and of course they've had a lot of presenters over the years. I'm just concerned that they've perhaps wasted an opportunity to reinvent the show, which for a long time has become more about the personalities involved, rather than concentrating on serious motoring journalism.

This latest escapade is so old hat !
Top Gear featured Ken Block a couple of years ago, drifting his Ford WRX in and out of the hangar and around the airfield @ Dunsfold
Ken Block does one every year in different locations....search Youtube for Gymkhana......8 is the latest done in Dubai this year.

Hi @Beenherebefore I think the 'professionally outraged' group were protesting that this took place in view of the Cenotaph....'in the background with a wide angle lens'....
I actually was more in awe of the black burnt rubber tyre marks they left all over Horseguards Parade

Nope !.....probably give it a miss in favour of BTCC and WTCC.
F1 no longer appeals......messed about with it too much. I can see why.....because all of the technological development eventually finds its way into production road cars, MGU-K and MGU-H etc etc.
But unfortunately it's no longer an attractive spectator sport......whereas BTCC and WTCC are.
