Unless you have been in a news free zone for 24 hrs it wont have gone unnoticed that Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended...

Allegedly he punched a producer....

Sundays episode has been shelved along with the remaining two in the Top Gear series..

Clarksons suspension has led to a massive petition for his reinstatement.

Personally, I wonder why so many want him back? Surely this massively popular show can survive without him? (Stands back ready to be panned for that comment Fear)

Maybe this 'hero worship' of Clarkson is a 'man thing'? (apologies if that appears sexist Rolleys)

I don't particularly like him. I think he arrogantly believes he is invincible....Drum

I thought it wasn't half-bad to be honest personally. I really liked Matt Le Blanc and Chris Evans would be fine I think if he was just himself. I'll keep watching. I like the new Rally course for the Stars too :).

I watched some of it and enjoyed it. There are always going to be those who loved the old show and will compare this unfavourably to that. I hated Clarkson with a passion...so will watch this for a while ...I like Chris Evans you see. I will give it a chance...:smileywink:

I was too busy to watch but it got slated in the press and the reviews were very poor. Early days though....

To be fair, if you ever watch the first top gear from the last 3, it was truly dreadful

Actually I though Chris Evans was quite amusing when the first show aired. In his intro he 'dared' to make a joke about being hungry and would any of the producers care to get him something to eat?

I suppose this sort of comment would have offended the Clarkson fans though...Whistle

And it's the type of humour Clarkson would have used.

All in all the "new" show appears to be just a re-hash of everything Top Gear has already done.....no new ideas, no new format......same old.

It's also the 'type of humour' Chris Evans would use. Quite anarchic actually. However as I say Clarkson has gone...thank god. I may continue to watch this new show (even if it follows the old format) You should be watching the old team on Amazon Prime....Drum
