So the new PC is coming between 12.45 -1.45pm. Just as Ray is putting on his coat to go bowling. Luckily it's also midway between the end of 3rd free practice and Qualifying.  rofl

My mum has dementia & last night she rang me demanding a birthday party, her birthday being today didn't leave me much time to organise anything. Then I thought to myself that she won't remember asking me, turning up she'd be swearing at me for making a fuss, accusing me of fibbing about her asking me to do something to celebrate. (one day she will remember & she'll make me pay for it)

She turned up today & never said a word. I made her the usual NATO standard & then went into the kitchen, lit the candles & walked it in.

Her eyes lit up, She genuinely looked like she didn't know it was her birthday/had never seen a cake before in her life, but I couldn't help feeling a little sad that she's slipping away little by little.

Hello @Anonymous ... lovely photo of your mum

My mum is in a nursing home with dementia ... she does not realise she has a grandson, my son Alex ... generally she likes looking at old black and white family photos

Me and my sister do what we can.

All done. My new PC is all set up and working. Quicker than I thought if honest. rofl

Biggest mistake I made was choosing the red model (I had silver before) The black keys don't stand out as much. After all the hard work that's gone into getting it sorted, I'll keep that part to myself. clown

The Red Peril henceforth shall @Cleoriff be known as 😆

PS. You can get a different keyboard... Older son has one that lights up all colours.

@pgn

Not sure a new keyboard is possible? This is an Acer SSD and the keys are built into the laptop. It's the same as the one I had before and Ray took that to bits and I looked at the keyboard.

It's this one https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/acer-aspire-3-15-6-laptop-intel-core-i5-256-...

Anyway now we are in the light of day, it doesn't seem such an issue rofl

Ah, ok - a laptop,or notebook pc, not a "box in the corner with wires coming out of it" pc - nice. Lovely colour 👍
Surprised the keys aren't back-lit, a 'feature' that can be turned off or on via a setting on the keyboard itself.
