Hi all.

Encouraged by 2 fab community members to create this new topic. Hope you like.
Thought this could be a nice space to share some of the poems we have written and inspire each other with our creativity. Poems are a way for me to voice whats going on in my head especially when my anxiety has left me feeling somewhat foggy headed.

Hope you enjoy reading and sharing your work.

Pennywren 😊

Ahead of the England v Scotland Euro 2020 game on Friday, I knocked up this little ditty...

The Beautiful Game

The grass is mowed

Wembley no longer empty

The crowd will be singing

For goals a-plenty

Cheering on the England side

Three Lions on a shirt

Worn with pride.

We all believe

We all have faith

In England`s team

And Southgate.

We will shout

We will scream

No longer is it

Just a dream.

England will attack

And get stuck in.

Euro 2020

England will win.

Thank you @Cleoriff

Don`t ask me to put music to it. I can`t sing a note or play a musical instrument but I`m sure there are talented musicians among our forum members who may be able to oblige.yahoo

Summer haze

The sun glimmers down

From the forget me not sky.

The cotton ball clouds

Drift lazily by.

The heat makes the path shimmer,

As it radiates upwards.

It's too hot for crazy,

Just need to be lazy.

The drone of a bee

As its dances by,

Searching for nectar rich flowers.

Far up in the trees,

Birds sing their chorus,

Delighted with the world.

People have retreated indoors

Away from the burning sun.

But as i sit here,

The grass tickling my feet,

The melody of life surrounds me.

I breathe in the scent of freshly mown grass.

Momentarily I can forget:

The stress at work,

The anxiety,

The uncertainty.

Instead I can think of the moment,

The here and now.

Get through this trial,

These next 12 weeks.

Become stronger for it,

Prove all the doubters wrong:

I am capable,

I am brave,

I am strong.

Need to remember this when things get tough

Morning all. Sorry for the quietness lately from me. I have been working like crazy because I have been accepted on a 12 week trial as acting store manager and I'm both nervous and excited. Never been accepted as someone who is capable until recently so it's still a bit weird for me. Hey ho.... poem time!!

There is hope in my heart
There is a dream building inside me.
People have seen the difference,
Am I different?
I'm just me.
I look in the mirror and see the same old me:
The brown hair
The glasses
The slight smile.
Apparently there is a glow
A sparkle in my eye
A smile in voice
I have found reason to laugh
To believe
To dream big
And take my chance
It may be crazy
But I am living in a rosy haze
I am starting to believe in me
Am I prideful being proud of my achievements?
Hope not.
For once I am hopeful
For once I have something to fight for
And a future to aim for

Beautiful @Pennywren  and just remember this. When you go for your interview, if you believe in yourself, others will believe in you.

Wishing you all the very best kissing_heart
